Sabudana Khichdi | Sabudana Chaat | Pearl Sago

How to make Sabudana Khichdi

Sabudana Khichdi or Sabudana Upma is an Indian delicacy served for breakfast. It is a scrumptious recipe in which Pearl Sagu is cooked with potato and peanuts. It is also called a purity meal (vrat ka khanna - food for fasting) in India. This dish is specially made on occasions like "Navratri" in India. It is easy to cook and quick.

It is a perfect meal for lunch boxes. Sabudana Khichdi is spicy, aromatic and flavorful. There are different variations of Khichdi. I have made gujarati style Sabudana Khichdi. It is vegan and gluten free.

  3. Very gorgeous recipe Ritu. We make it with a slight difference, we add a spice called jeeravan instead of chaat masala and some sugar and lemon juice. I have never tried with chaat masala, and next time I will keep in mind to make it your way. I bet this must be super delicious! :-)
