Sooji Halwa | Semolina Pudding | Suji Halwa

How to make Sooji Halwa 

Sooji Halwa is a delicious semolina pudding which is easy to prepare and tastes divine. This is one of the famous sweet in India. In India, it is prepared for religious occasions and festivals. It is prepared using semolina, sugar and ghee and you can top it with dry fruits. It is an easy recipe which can be made in jiffy.

Ingredients : 
Roasted Sooji, Roasted Semolina, bhuni sooji
Roasted Sooji

  • 1 cup sooji (semolina)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 3 cups of water
  • pinch of cardamom powder
  • pinch of saffron
  • 6 chopped almonds
  • 10 raisins
  • Saffron strings for garnishing
Preparation :
  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, and add sooji (semolina) in it.

  2. Roast and stir it on low flame for 5 minutes, make sure lumps are not formed
  3. Once it turns light brown and aromatic, add raisins, saffron and cardamom powder in the same
  4. Roast it for two minutes
  5. Add water to it and sugar after adding water
  6. Stir it and cook it one more minute and its done
  7. Add almonds on the top 
  8. Garnish it with saffron 
  9. Serve Hot
