How to make Bread Pakora

Recipe of Bread Pakora with Potato Stuffing 

Bread Pakora stuffed with cottage cheese and spicy, tangy potatoes is a famous Indian snack served with tamarind chutney and Mint Chutney. It can be served as a breakfast, snack or as a starter. These yummy bread Pakora's are relished by everybody and is a filling breakfast snack. When accompanied by tea, it completes the meal. When serve hot, tastes delicious.

Lets start with the recipe :

Ingredients for stuffing :
  • 4 boiled potatoes or leftover potatoes
    Bread Pakora, Bread Pakoda
  • cottage cheese (Paneer) 
  • 2 chopped green chillies
  • Pinch of asafoetida (Heeng)
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Salt according to taste
  • Coriander leaves
  • Olive oil/ Refine oil
Ingredients for the Coating : 
  • 1 cup besan (Gram flour)
  • 6 slices of whole wheat bread/ white bread / Brown bread
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala 
  • Oil for deep frying
Preparation of stuffing :

  1. Boil and mash potatoes
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a non stick pan
  3. Add green chillies and heeng in it
  4. Add mashed potatoes and mix
  5. Add chaat masala, pepper, salt in it
  6. Let it cook for 5 minutes on low flame
  7. Mix well and add coriander leaves
  8. Keep it aside
Preparation for Bread Pakora :

  1. Take besan (Gram flour) in a bowl
  2. Add salt and chaat masala in the same
  3. Add water in it and mix the batter
  4. Batter should be of medium consistency (Not too thick and not too thin)
  5. Cut slices of bread from the middle in the shape of triangle or rectangle
  6. Keep one slice of bread on the plate and spread the potato stuffing evenly
  7. Keep a piece/slice of cottage cheese on the top of the stuffing
  8. Put another slice of bread on the top
  9. Press it a little, it will look like a sandwich
  10. Heat oil in a shallow pan for deep frying
  11. When it is hot, dip sandwich triangles in the besan batter
  12. Keep the flame medium, and let bread pakora cook from both the sides
  13. When it turns golden from both the sides, take them out on a tissue or on an oil absorbent paper
  14. Sprinkle some chaat masala on the top of bread pakoras
  15. Serve hot with Mint Chutney and tamarind chutney.
