How to make Sev Puri

Sev Puri is a famous Indian street food. It is easy to make and irresistible. It is tangy, spicy and yummy. You can use ready made puri and sev for this. Once you have all the ingredients ready then it would be quick to make. It doesn't involve cooking, just stuffing and topping of the ingredients and it is ready to serve. Puri can be used for similar recipes like Bhel puri, Pani puri, dahi puri.

Ingredients :
  • 30 puris
    Sev Puri, Sev Poori, Papdi chaat, Indian street food
    Sev Puri
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 cup tamarind chutney
  • 1 cup Mint Chutney
  • 1/2 cup boiled chickpeas
  • 3 chopped onions
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • Salt according to taste 
  • 1 cup sev
  • Pomegranate seeds
Preparation :

  1. Boil potato and chickpeas separately in a pressure cooker and keep it aside
  2. In a bowl, add potatoes and chickpeas and mash them together
  3. Add salt, chaat masala and pepper in it
  4. Mix it well and keep it aside
  5. Arrange the puris on the serving plate
  6. Crack a small hole in the centre of each puri
  7. Add the potato and chickpeas mixture in the hole
  8. Add chopped onion in it
  9. Add tamarind chutney and mint chutney
  10. Top it with pomegranate seeds and handful of Sev
  11. Serve immediately  
Note :
  • Serve Sev puri immediately otherwise it will loose its crispness
  • You can add tomato or cucumber in the same if you like those flavours
  • You can add curd and can have it as a dahi puri

    1. Thanks Paula. And yeah, the best part about this is that you dont require cooking. If you have all the ingredients ready, only stuffing and topping will do the job. And you can enjoy delicious flavours it has. :)
