How to make Bread Rolls

Recipe of Bread Rolls with Stuffed Potatoes

Bread roll with stuffed potatoes is a delicious Indian appetizer which is quick and easy. You can make it from fresh or leftover potatoes. It is an popular Indian snack which taste great with a cup of tea. It is crispy and crunchy from outside and soft and flavorful from inside, and melts in the mouth. It tastes great with tamarind chutney, mint chutney or tomato sauce.



In India, when monsoon approaches, a platter full of bread rolls with a hot cup of tea is a must for every north Indian. They treat themselves with these tasty and crispy Bread Rolls. The best part about the bread rolls is that are made of basic ingredients which are available in everyone's Kitchen. It is a quick and yummy snack. This occasional treat is relished by kids too.



Lets start with the recipe :

Ingredients :

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 boiled potatoes
  • 2 chopped green chillies
  • chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • oil for deep frying
Preparation :
  1. Mash boiled potatoes in a bowl
  2. Add salt, green chillies, coriander leaves, chaat masala, garam masala and mix well
  3. Divide it in 8 portions and keep it aside
  4. Cut bread in half, dampen bread in water and squeeze water
  5. Add mashed potato filling in the center of the roll
  6. Roll the bread and close the edges
  7. Make all the rolls and keep it aside
  8. Heat oil in a non-stick pan for deep frying
  9. Deep fry bread  rolls in oil till they become crispy on medium flame
  10. Let it cook from all the sides, until it turn golden
  11. Remove excess oil by placing it on a tissue or an oil absorbing paper.
  12. Serve Immediately

Note : 
  • Chaat masala and garam masala in an Indian spice. If any one of them is not available in your kitchen, you can skip it.
  • Serve immediately, otherwise it will not taste the same.

  3. These look very easy and really tasty - we are having Shepherd's pie tonight, which is not at all Indian cooking but involves making lots of mashed potato. I am going to save some and make this tomorrow xxx
