Recipe of Semolina Vermicelli with veggies

How to make Sooji vermicelli | Semolina upma

Semolina Vermicelli is easy, delicious and healthy recipe for breakfast. It is quick and flavorful breakfast for a busy day. It is stand alone dish which can be served for breakfast or lunch. Addition of vegetables and spices makes it healthy and aromatic. Semolina Vermicelli is mixed with veggies and topped with lemon juice which makes it irresistible. It is vegan and gluten free. It is a comfort meal which is easily digestible and light on stomach.

Lets start with the recipe :

Ingredients :
  • 1 pack of Vermicelli
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 green chillies 
  • 2 sliced onions
  • 1 chopped bell pepper
  • 2 chopped carrots
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Preparation :
  1. Boil water in a big pan, add 1 teaspoon oil and vermicelli in boiling water and let it cook for 10 minutes
  2. Drain water and rinse it with cold water. Keep it aside
  3. Take another pan, add oil and let it heat
  4. Add onions, and let it cook until they turn pink.
  5. Add capsicum, carrot, green chillies and cook for few minutes on low flame 
  6. Don't put the lid and keep vegetables crunchy
  7. Add salt, chaat masala, pepper and mix it well
  8. Mix veggies in the boiled vermicelli 
  9. Squeeze lemon on the top of it.
  10. Mix it and Serve hot

Note : 
  • You can add any vegetable according to your taste
  • Don't mix and stir vermicelli once done
  • Serve immediately otherwise it will become sticky

  2. Great start for the day with this dish. Over here, we hardly use vermicelli except for payasam. Our choice is mee hoon or rice noodles which we use for such a dish.
