How to make Gobhi Pakoda

Recipe of Gobhi Pakoda | Cauliflower Pakoda 

Gobhi Pakodas are classic yummy cauliflower fritters which are coated with gram flour and flavored with Indian Spices. They are very addictive. They are crispy and packed with flavor. They are filling and easy to prepare. You can serve it with the chutneys or tomato ketchup. These pakodas can be made in jiffy, they will be done in 15 minutes.

These crispy crunchy pakodas can be served for breakfast or anytime snack. They are a good accompaniment for tea and perfect appetizer for a rainy day. They are vegan and gluten free.

Lets start with the recipe :

Ingredients : 
  • 1 cup Gram flour (besan)
  • 8 pieces of cauliflower (gobhi)
  • 1 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon pepper 
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon jeera powder (Cumin  powder)
  • Oil for deep frying
Preparation :
  1. Take besan (Gram flour) in a bowl
  2. Add salt and chaat masala in the same
  3. Add water in it and mix the batter
  4. Batter should be of medium consistency (Not too thick and not too thin)
  5. In a bowl, add carom seeds, salt, pepper, garam masala, chaat masala and jeera powder and mix it well
  6. Heat oil in a shallow pan for deep frying
  7. When it is hot, dip cauliflower pieces(gobhi) in the besan batter and drop it in the oil
  8. Keep the flame medium, and let it cook from both the sides
  9. When it turns golden from both the sides, take them out on a tissue paper or oil absorbent paper 
  10. Sprinkle some chaat masala on the top of pakodas
  11. Serve hot with Mint Chutney, tamarind chutney or tomato ketchup.
