How to make Malpua

Recipe of Malpua

Malpua is an authentic Indian traditional dessert served with rice pudding  or Rabdi. This combination of rice pudding or Rabdi and Malpua is famous in north India. You will find it in most of the restaurant's menu in northern part of India. It is quick and easy to make. It is an Indian sweet pancake made from the batter of whole wheat flour and sugar syrup. It is a soft pancake with crispy edges. When you want to have something sweet and don't want to spend lot of time in making it, this is the perfect sweet for you. It can be made with the minimum ingredients available in most of the kitchen.

Two ingredients should are required to make this delicious Malpua : whole wheat flour and sugar. I have made this with sugar, you can also substitute sugar with crushed jaggery etc. It is vegan and eggless.

  3. OMG, Ritu! This looks SO SO tempting. Your version of Malpua looks more healthier than mine, as I add cream to my batter! And your addition of honey on the top sounds so YUMMY! Well done! :)

  4. Another great idea for breakfast Ritu, it is so interesting you put a bit of cardamom in the batter, never tasted pancakes with cardamom before. I usually put cinnamon or cloves and cardamom I use in savoury dishes. It is funny you posted this I was craving something with cardamom today but did not find it at the supermarket! How do you prepare the rice pudding?
