How to make broken wheat kheer

Recipe of Daliye ki kheer | Broken wheat pudding

It is delicious Indian dessert prepared using broken wheat. It is healthy and delicious. You can replace sugar with jaggery or sugar-free or you can make it without sugar. It is quick and easy to make. This simple, easy and delicious dessert is a perfect ending after a perfect dinner.

It is a yummy, healthy and delicious dessert which you can make without much effort. It is famous among kids too. It is not like other desserts, it is light on stomach. No need of adding cream or making milk thick, it tastes great and it's simplicity makes it more delicious and filling.

Lets start with the recipe :

Ingredients :
  • 1 liter full cream milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 10 strands of saffron
  • 1 bowl of broken wheat / Dhaliya
  • Chopped almonds for garnishing
Preparation :
  • Dry roast broken wheat in a pan on low flame till it turns light golden
  • Boil it in a pressure cook till it it soft 
  • Drain the water in a strainer and keep it aside
  • Heat milk in a steel pan or a vessel and bring it to boil
  • Add boiled broken wheat/dhaliya in the milk and keep heating, stirring the milk on low flame
  • Add saffron strands in it
  • When milk will be thickened, add sugar and keep stirring 
  • Cook for few more minutes and turn off the flame
  • Garnish it with chopped almonds
  • You can serve it hot or cold
