How to make Meethi Seviyan

Recipe of Meethi Seviyan | Vermicelli Dessert

This vermicelli dessert is also called Meethi Seviyan. It is prepared by toasting vermicelli in oil until you can smell the sweet aroma. Next flavor comes from the cardamom and saffron which gives a delicious flavor to this beautiful dessert. When you want to have something sweet and don't want to spend lot of time in making it, this is the perfect sweet for you. It can be made with the minimum ingredients available in most of the kitchen.

It is one of the easiest and delightful dessert which can be made in jiffy. This is one of the popular dessert in India which is loved by kids. It is a special dessert made mostly on all festivals. I have added cardamom and saffron in it which gives nice fragrance and taste to it. It is an aromatic dessert which tastes great when serve hot.

Lets start with the recipe :

Ingredients :
  • 6 saffron strands
  • 1 packet of vermicelli (Bambino) 200 gm
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk (Milk maid)
  • 1 crushed cardamom
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cup full cream milk
  • 1 teaspoon orange food color
  • 10 raisins 
  • Oil
Preparation :
  • Heat oil in a deep pan
  • Add crushed cardamom to it
  • When you can smell sweet aroma of cardamom, add vermicelli
  • Roast it for a 2 minutes on low flame
  • Add milk and raisins in it
  • Mix it and add food color in it
  • Cook, till vermicelli is tender, if needed add more milk in it
  • Keep stirring until vermicelli absorbs all the milk 
  • Add sugar in it and stir it till sugar melts and dissolves in it
  • Serve it hot

Note : 
  • If you don't have condensed milk, you can skip it
