How to make Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Recipe of Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus is healthy, delicious and easy dip which is irresistible and addictive. It is simple and classic hummus which can be served with pita chips, nachos etc. You can also add it in wraps and tacos. The key ingredients of this hummus is chickpeas, red pepper and tahini. You will love it's beautiful flavor and taste.


It is very quick and easy to make, put everything in the blender and it's ready. It is creamy and smooth dip. Roasted bell pepper add a smoky flavor to this hummus. You can easily roast this pepper on stove or you can use oven for the same.

Ingredients :
  • 1 whole red bell pepper
  • 2 cup boiled chickpeas (Garbanzo beans)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon
  • 1 tablespoon natural sesame seeds for making tahini or you can use store bought tahini
  • 8 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano/Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilly powder
  • Salt according to taste
Preparation :
  • Roast red bell pepper on a stove or in oven until it's skin turns black from all sides
  • Let it cool down, peel of the skin and keep it aside
  • Dry roast sesame seeds on low flame for few minutes and let it cool down
  • Grind the roasted sesame seeds in a grinder finely, your Tahini is ready, keep it aside
  • In a blender, add boiled chickpeas, garlic, roasted bell pepper, Tahini and blend it
  • Prepare dressing, add salt, pepper, red chilly, Italian seasoning, lime juice and olive oil
  • In a bowl, add blended mixture and dressing
  • Toss it and refrigerate it
  • Serve chilled
