How to make Sabudana Semolina Kheer

It is delicious Indian dessert prepared using sabudana, semolina, sugar and milk. It is one of the most delicious Indian dessert. The combination of sabudana and vermicelli gives it a beautiful flavor which makes this pudding divine. It is so addictive that you can't stop eating it.

It is a yummy and filling dessert which you can make without much effort. It is a traditional Indian pudding which is perfect for festivities.

Lets start with the recipe :

Ingredients :
  • 1 liter full cream milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup sabudana/Sago/Tapioca
  • 1/2 cup semolina/seviyan/vermicelli  
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Chopped pistachio for garnishing(optional)
Preparation :
  • Soak sabudana/tapioca in water for 30 minutes
  • Boil water in a pan, add sabudana/tapioca and semolina in the water
  • Cook it on medium flame for 10 minutes on medium heat, stir often
  • When sabudana/tapioca turns transparent and semolina is cooked, drain the water in a strainer and keep it aside
  • Heat milk in a steel pan or a vessel and bring it to boil
  • Add sugar and cardamom in it
  • Stir and add sabudana/Tapioca and semolina/vermicelli in it 
  • When kheer starts thickening, cook for few more minutes and turn off the flame
  • Garnish it with chopped pistachios 
  • You can serve it hot or cold
