How to make Spinach Dosa

Recipe of Spinach Dosa | Palak Dosa

Spinach dosa is easy and healthy green pancake which is vegan and gluten free. It gives health of greens and taste of dosa. It can be served with coconut chutney and sambar. It is a delicious variation to a simple dosa which makes it delicious and healthy. This is the best way to add greens in your diet.

You can have it guilt free everyday. It is a kid friendly recipe and green color makes it more tempting. These are hearty and delightful Indian crepes made of mixture of greens. You would love this nutritious option for breakfast or lunch.

Ingredients for Dosa :
  • 1 cup idli/dosa batter
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 handful mint leaves
  • 1 handful coriander leaves
  • 3 green chillies
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Pinch of asafoetida (Hing)
  • Pinch of grated ginger
Preparation for Dosa :
  • Take idli/dosa batter in a bowl
  • Blend spinach, mint, green chillies and coriander leaves in a blender
  • Make a puree of spinach, mint, chillies and coriander mixture
  • Mix it with batter and add salt, pepper, asafoetida and grated ginger in it
  • If the mixture is thick add more water to it
  • Keep it aside for 5 minutes
  • Your batter is ready
  • Heat non-stick tawa. When it is hot, add a ladle full of batter and spread it around in a round shape
  • Sprinkle few drops of oil around the dosa and let it cook on medium flame until it is crispy
  • Spinach dosa is ready
  • Hot serve with coconut chutney and sambar
