How to make Masala Papad

Recipe of Masala Papad

Masala Papad is crispy and low calorie snack which is topped with colorful veggies with the mix of Indian spices. It is served as a starter in the north Indian restaurants. The best part about this Masala Papad is that it doesn't need any cooking. You have to cook the papad and top it fresh veggies and it is ready to serve. You can deep fry or roast the papad.

You can roast papad on tawa or in the microwave. You can also serve it as an evening snack with a cup of tea. It is a no oil recipe which is perfect for dieters. Masala Papad should be served immediately otherwise it will become soft and soggy.

Ingredients :
  • 4 masala papad
  • 1 medium size finely chopped onion
  • 1 finely chopped tomato
  • 1 chopped green chilly
  • 1 finely chopped cucumber
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • salt according to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mango powder (amchur)
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
Preparation :
  1. Heat tawa, roast papad on medium flame and keep it aside
  2. In a bowl, add onion, tomato, cucumber, green chilly and coriander in it
  3. Add salt, pepper, dry mango powder and chaat masala, lemon juice and toss it
  4. Divide the topping in 4 equal portions
  5. Place papad on a serving plate, top it with the veggies
  6. Use same method for all the papads
  7. Serve immediately otherwise it will become soggy
